BUG Searching is not working

Searching is not working as of version 2.2.9 - a message is displayed:
Request-URI Too Long
The requested URL's length exceeds the capacity limit for this server.
Can it be fixed?

Please specify what kind of search we are talking about? and under what conditions does this happen?

This error occurs when using: Search Snippets.

You need to increase the URL length limit in the server settings. You can contact the hosting technical support with this question
